Further down the coast is the Zetland Arms has the best view of the sea you could ask for, set right on the beach itself you can taste the sea air. Run by the same people that run the The Rose in Deal, the menu is a tasty treat too!

Sami & Louise in London

Sami and Louise, co-founders of MUTTS, share their favourite dog-friendly pubs in London.

The Scolt Head, De Beauvoir - The Scolt’s Head has great food, a lovely ivy-surrounded garden and a great pub quiz on a Monday!

The Albion, Islington - It’s quite rare to find a back garden like The Albion’s in London, especially one draped in beautiful hanging wisteria. Because of that, it’s always pretty busy. If you can manage to get a table, it’s a good place to spend an afternoon.

The Mayflower, Rotherhithe - Watch the sunset from the jetty overlooking the Thames, surrounded by cobbled streets and over 400 years of history.

The Crown & Greyhound, Dulwich - A beautiful pub, inside and out. Set in the heart of Dulwich Village, it’s just a short walk from Dulwich Park and the gardens at Dulwich Picture Gallery - both great for dogs. (Inside the gallery, guide, hearing and assistance dogs are welcome too.)

The White Cross, Richmond - Known as the pub that floods, this riverside spot becomes encircled by the Thames when the tide rises over 4.5m. It’s all part of the charm, so don't worry they’ll lend you a pair of wellies so you can wade your way out!

The Flask, Highgate - A short (but steep) walk from Hampstead Heath, one of our favourite London spots to walk the dogs, The Flask has a lovely garden with covered seating for rainy days, and they do a great Sunday roast.

The Army & Navy, Hackney - A good spot to catch the football, with a huge garden out the back.
